Healthy Happenings: Stand Up for Health Freedom/Surviving COVID
“HOPE is the only thing stronger than FEAR”
Happy New Year! We are still dealing with COVID, and may be dealing with it for a few more months. I am writing today as a citizen of the USA, and I am very concerned about the confusion regarding transmission and the new vaccine. As a citizen, I believe we all have the right to decide for ourselves and our families. At this time, I feel we are all being pressured to accept an unproven and untested vaccine. However, I believe we should have the right to choose whether we get the injection. I want everyone to have that choice whether they decide to get it or not, and not be discriminated against if we choose not to get it. For this reason, I joined two non-profit organizations this year. First, I joined the Children’s Health Defense Fund, which was started by Robert Kennedy Jr. These men have lost family support because they are fighting for our children at this divisive time. I was so disappointed this year when the Weston A Price Foundation had to cancel the annual conference featuring Robert Kennedy Jr. and Del Bigtree. Our children’s health was one of the motivating factors that led me to open this store over 16 years ago, and is still my number one passion today.
The second non-profit organization I joined is nationalhealthfreedom.org. Their mission is “To promote access to all health care information, services, treatments, and products that the people deem beneficial for their own health and survival; to promote an understanding of the laws and factors impacting the right to access: and to promote the health of the people of this nation.” That is a big job. I believe we need to stand up now and support ourselves and all citizens of this nation. The choice is yours. God Bless.
Symptoms of COVID:
1. Some people have only the loss of taste and smell.
2. Others experience Fever, cough, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle and body aches, headache, diarrhea, congestion, and/or nausea or vomiting.
3. It is so difficult to know whether you have COVID, a cold, sinus infection, influenza or stomach flu.
Supplements:
1. Vitamin C- I prefer Ascorbyl Palmitate
2. Vitamin D3
3. Medicinal Mushrooms-I use RealMushrooms in powder form because it is a whole food item.
4. Turmeric because it is a powerful anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting agent.
5. Zinc-I prefer the chelated forms of zinc, which absorbs better. *** do not exceed 70 mg daily because excessive zinc depresses the immune system.
6. Probiotics
Herbal Remedies:
1. Elderberry-We have made up kits so you can easily make your own Elderberry syrup.
2. Nasal washes that include xylitol with essential oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, tea tree, and thyme have been shown to block viruses and bacteria from entering through the nasal passages.
3. Garlic-is a potent anti-viral and antibacterial herb. To get the most Allicin which is the active constituent,
I cut a garlic clove into small pieces. Let sit for at least 10 minutes, then swallow with water.
4. Berberine, which is the active ingredient in Goldenseal, has antiviral and antibacterial properties.
Dealing with Stress: **Stress alone decreases the immune system**
1. Meditation -even 5 minutes per day has been shown to be helpful
2. Yoga or Tai Chi
3. Exercise
4. Hot bath with relaxing essential oils
5. Turning off the news
6. For me, praying daily is essential.

Words to Live By: “What’s the use of a fine house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?”
Henry David Thoreau
Recipe: Broccoli Casserole
2 pounds broccoli florets 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
¼ cup unsalted butter 2 cups milk (I use natural milk)
¼ cup flour (I use spelt flour) 3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded & divided
½ teaspoon Celtic sea salt 1 cup panko bread crumbs
½ teaspoon black pepper 2 tsp melted butter
½ teaspoon onion powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Blanch broccoli by putting into a pot of boiling water for 1-2 minutes until bright green. Place broccoli into a bowl filled with ice water.
In a sauce pan melt butter over medium heat, Whisk in flour, salt, black pepper, onion, and garlic powder. Allow to cook 203 minutes while whisking. Whisk in milk, continue to cook over medium/low heat until thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in 2 cups of the cheddar cheese until melted. Mix broccoli with the cheese sauce. Pour into a prepared casserole baking dish.
Top broccoli with remaining 1 cup of cheese.
In a small bowl combine panko bread crumbs with melted butter. Stir to combine. Then sprinkle over top of casserole
Bake for 20 minutes, until heated through and bread crumbs are a golden brown. Serve warm
